Bouquets to Art 2026 at Legion of Honor: Is It Worth It?

I checked out Bouquets to Art at Legion of Honor for the first time. Here’s my review of the floral displays and whether the event is worth the price.

Bouquets to Art is an annual spring event in San Francisco where florists create arrangements inspired by artworks in the museum. The exhibition takes place at both de Young and Legion of Honor, with the main location at de Young.

I had never been to the event before, so this weekend my husband and I decided to check it out. We decided on Legion of Honor since neither of us had visited before, and we just went to de Young a few months ago. Here’s my review of the museum and the exhibition.

Admission

We bought tickets for the event online last week and some time slots were already sold out. Admission was $44 per person, compared to about $20 on normal days for the museum.

Parking

There is a free parking lot on site, but when we arrived around 10 AM it was already full. We parked on the street nearby instead and walked for about 5 minutes to the museum. If you’re visiting on the weekend, I recommend arriving early or expect to park on the surrounding streets.

Museum

Legion of Honor is a much smaller and more focused art museum compared to de Young. The two floors of exhibitions are mainly centered around Rodin sculptures and European paintings. While smaller than de Young, the neoclassical architecture is beautiful, and we saw several people doing photoshoots in front of the museum. I wasn’t too into the paintings, but I really liked some of the stone pieces on display.

Exhibit

There are about 30 floral arrangements scattered throughout the museum. It took us less than an hour to see all of them.

There is one huge centerpiece installation in one of the rooms and a couple of larger pieces, but most of the displays are smaller bouquets placed in front of paintings. There were a couple of unique arrangements, but many of them weren’t that different from normal bouquets.

It was only slightly crowded around the exhibits, so I was able to take photos without waiting too long.

Verdict

Overall, the floral arrangements were pretty, but $44 felt a bit expensive for the size of the exhibition at Legion of Honor. Looking at the event map provided, there appear to be many more floral displays at de Young for the same price. If your main interest is the flower arrangements themselves, I would recommend going to de Young instead.
