Paris is magical no matter how many times you visit, but itโs even better when you know how to make the most of it. Here are my top 5 tips to help you prepare for your visit to Paris.
1. Book Major Attractions in Advance
Paris is one of the most-visited cities in the world, so tickets sell out quickly for the Louvre, Eiffel Tower, and Versailles. Book tickets online in advance to skip the long lines and guarantee your entry.
2. Use the Metro
The Paris Metro is fast, reliable, and affordable. If you plan to ride more than a few times, get a Navigo Easy card (reloadable transit card). You can load it with day passes or ticket packs, which are cheaper than buying single rides.
3. See Paris at Night
Paris is called the โCity of Lightsโ for a reason. After sunset, the Eiffel Tower sparkles on the hour while the Seine glows with reflections from illuminated bridges and monuments. Itโs a completely different experience after dark!
4. Take Advantage of Free or Discounted Museums
Many museums and monuments offer free entry on the first Sunday of the month, including Musรฉe dโOrsay and Sainte-Chapelle. For the busiest spots, reserve a free ticket online in advance to avoid long waits.
5. Try Local Bakeries
Start your morning at a local boulangerie with a croissant au beurre or pain au chocolat. The bread and pastries are baked fresh daily and taste incredible.
