Travel Blog Diary: Week 22 — Index Please

Here’s what happened in the twenty-second week of my travel blog journey, where I tried to get my newer posts indexed on Google and Bing.

Last week I tried to create niche content by writing about Chase Sapphire Reserve. I thought Bing would index the new post within a few days, but seems like it has the same issue as Google where new pages are not getting picked up. After doing some debugging with ChatGPT, I learned that this is common for growing blogs. I also learned that I could submit individual URLs for priority indexing, so I did that for the recent posts on Google and Bing. Google indexed the pages within hours after submission, and Bing took over a day.

Final Thoughts

This week has taught me that publishing good content isn’t enough — distribution is just as important. If search engines don’t index your posts and social platforms don’t surface them, the content might as well be invisible.

Now that my indexing issues are resolved and my IG followers are growing, I’m excited to get more insights on those niche posts next week!
