Travel Blog Diary: Week 25 — Not Niche Enough

Here’s what happened in the twenty-fifth week of my travel blog journey, where I learned my previous post wasn’t niche enough and doubled down on experience-based review posts.

Last week I experienced my first flight cancellation and wrote about it. This week I learned that canceled flight is not niche enough — my post didn’t rank in the top 10 on either traditional or AI search. Since my Expendio de Maiz review performed well across both, I decided to double down on that format. I wrote another experience-based review, this time on Dig This Las Vegas.

Final Thoughts

I’m curious how the Dig This post will perform. I think it’ll definitely get more impressions than the cancelled flight post given it’s more specific, but I’m not sure how it’ll compare to the Expendio de Maiz post. Operating an excavator seems more niche than eating at a Michelin-star rated restaurant, but we’ll see what happens next week!
