Travel Blog Diary: Week 45 — Missing Analytics

Here’s what happened in the forty-fifth week of my travel blog journey, where I accidentally stopped collecting analytics for three weeks.

Last month I uninstalled the Google Site Kit plugin after an update brought down the website. Last week I checked Google Analytics and realized I hadn’t been collecting any data because the plugin was actually required for tracking. I reinstalled it, and thankfully it didn’t break the site this time. Unfortunately, I lost three weeks of analytics data 😅. Search volume still looks normal, so hopefully I didn’t miss much.

Final Thoughts

There’s only a month and a half left until the blog’s one-year anniversary. It’s unlikely that I’ll break even by then, but we’ll see how close I can get with my upcoming Kenya and Turkey trip. Check back next month to find out!
