Travel Blog Diary: Week 28 — Impressions Drop Again

Here’s what happened in the twenty-eighth week of my travel blog journey, where my impressions dropped again.

Last week my impressions recovered and I hit 1K total Google impressions. This week they dropped again, with the numbers similar to the previous dip. I think the fluctuation is likely because most of my posts still aren’t ranking high enough to generate consistent impressions.

The Slovenia post I wrote last week got 2 impressions — small, but better than nothing. Interestingly, the cancelled flight post with 0 impressions for a month also got 2 impressions. In comparison, the Dig This post from three weeks ago is leading with 23 impressions. The Vegas cost post from two weeks ago still has 0 impressions, although it did receive another 2 citations on Bing.

Final Thoughts

Reviews on tours and unique experiences seem to do well on impressions, but with a full time job I don’t have time to consistently do these activities. In the meantime, I’ll write more local focused posts to see if they can also bring some traffic.

Come back next week to see how the SF content performs!
