Travel Blog Diary: Week 30 — Newsletter Pause

Here’s what happened in the thirtieth week of my travel blog journey, where I decided to pause the newsletter.

Last week, my search impressions recovered after another dip. This week they dipped again, but the decline was smaller than before.

The Angler SF post performed well, getting the third most Google impressions (19) and second most Bing impressions (3). It even got one AI citation! Interestingly, the Carrizo Plains post continued to be an anomaly and was cited 2.3K times for the same “carrizo plain national fioritura parco” query — even more than last week!

For this week’s content, I wrote a tour review instead of another local post. I also published another edition of the newsletter, but made the decision to pause the newsletter for now. It overlaps too much with the diary and doesn’t offer enough unique value to justify the time cost.

Final Thoughts

It’s encouraging to see newer posts perform better than older posts, even if the overall rankings are still low. It’s also interesting that the Carrizo Plains post continued to do well for the same query — although it doesn’t seem like that has translated to any clicks. Let’s see how the Panama post performs next week!
